An energetic constituent for incendiary or explosive compositions comprises liquid non- explosive organic nitrate thickened with nitrocellulose and ethyl or methyl centralite (diethyl or dimethyl diphenylurea). Liquid nitrates specified are n-propyl nitrate, iso-propyl nitrate, and amyl nitrate. The energetic constituent may form part of an extrudable blasting explosive, an aqueous slurry epxlosive, or a powdered explosive. Other ingredients of the explosive compositions are ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, water, granular aluminium, guar gum, and zinc chromate. [GB1229736A]
