1316998 Administering medicines ORGANON LABORATORIES Ltd 19 June 1970 [23 June 1969] 29831/70 Heading A5R A device for subcutaneous administration to animals of biologically active substances, such as progesterones, comprises a cylindrical shank 10, a conical body 14 and a cylindrical, conical, or part conical frame 18, the body and frame being joined one to each end of the shank, and the maximum diameter of the body and frame being greater than that of the shank, and has a hollow cylinder 22 of polymeric material fitted around the shank between the body 14 and the frame 18 in which cylinder the biologically active substance is impregnated. The diameter of the frame is preferably greater than that of the body, and either the body or the frame is removable from the shank to allow fitting and removal of the cylinder 22. A pin having an eye and a thread attached thereto may be positioned at the end of the frame to assist in locating the device and removing it from the animal. [GB1316998A]
