Abstract

1277324 Ointment base CHESEBROUGHPOND'S Inc 16 Sept 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 44113/70 Heading A5B [Also in Division C3] A solid petrolatum composition for topical application to the skin comprises petrolatum (petroleum jelly) and a hydrophobic starch. The starch preferably comprises 30-60% by weight of the composition. The hydrophobic starch may be a starch ether or ester, e.g. the complex starch ether formed by the action of the tetramethylol derivative of acetylene diureine or starch, or the Al-salt of a low substituted starch octenyl succinic half ester containing hydrophobic groups. Mineral oil, microcrystalline waxes and silicone oils may also be included in the composition. [GB1277324A]
