Abstract
1296589 Abrasive articles NORTON CO 12 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 53828/70 Heading C4V An abrasive element comprises diamond or cubic boron nitride abrasive grains bonded by a ceramic matrix which includes 23-53% by volume of total matrix of a filler which is graphite, hexagonal boron nitride or molybdenum disulphide or mixtures of these, optionally with up to 50% by volume of filler of a metal powder, the filler having a numerical average particle size of less than 200 microns and the element having less than 15% porosity per volume. The bond may be a devitrified glass containing microcrystalline particles, such as of alumina and silicon carbide.
