1340331 Damp-courses for cavity walls; door and window frames ECONA (G & B) PLASTICS Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 14151/70 Addition to 1302694 Headings E1B and E1J A damp course for use at the end of a cavity wall adjacent an opening for a door or window, comprises a strip 336 of corrosionresistant, liquid-impermeable material, e.g. plastics, having a portion which engages between and spaces the door or window frame 338 and the end of the wall and to which the frame is secured, and another portion which enters the cavity 334 of the wall and comprises a pair of spaced walls 342, 344 projecting from and being bridged by the first portion, the walls 342, 344 having dovetail grooves 360 extending longitudinally of the strip for the anchoring of detachable wall ties 368; the damp course strip thereby serves also to close the end of the cavity and to tie the leaves of the wall together. Dovetail grooves may also be formed in the frame-engaging portion of the strip, and the grooves may function also as mortar keys. [GB1340331A]
