Abstract
1330072 The 3-cyclopentyl ether of 7α-methyl- 17α - ethynyl - estradiol CIBA - GEIGY AG 21 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 10428/71 Heading C2U The title compound is prepared by etherification of 7α-methyl-17α-ethynyl-estradiol, by reacting the diol or a salt thereof with a reactive ester of cyclopentanol, or by ethynylation with an acetylene metal compound of 3-cyclopentyloxy - 7α - methyl - 17 - oxo - #<SP>1,3,5(10)</SP> - estratriene. The novel steroid is stated to have estrogenic, uterotropic and blastocyte implantation inhibiting action, and it may be made up into pharmaceutical and veterinary compositions with suitable carriers. Specification 1,330,071 is referred to.
