Abstract

1361624 Nestable containers with rounded corners MO OCH DOMSJO AB 5 July 1971 [6 July 1970] 31430/71 Heading B8P A nestable container made from a blank has rounded corners each comprising a substantially rectangular panel 10 and two groups of three triangular panels 12, 15, 17, 12<SP>1</SP>, 15<SP>1</SP>, 17<SP>1</SP>, and has an unbroken rim flange defined by score lines at the top of the side walls and the corner panels. The container blank is made of cardboard coated on both sides with a layer of heatsealable material and is erected by folding the corner panels 15, 15<SP>1</SP> to lie with their outer surfaces in contact with the outer surfaces of panels 17, 17<SP>1</SP> and with their inner surfaces in contact with the inner surfaces of panels 12, 12<SP>1</SP> and heat-sealing the surfaces together. The flange-defining score lines in the triangular panels of each group are spaced from each other at a distance substantially equal to the thickness of the material of the blank and the panels 12, 12<SP>1</SP> are spaced from the panel 10 at substantially twice this distance to facilitate folding and maintain the top surface of the flange at the same height. The portions 28, 28<SP>1</SP> of the score lines 11, 11<SP>1</SP> are outwardly flared so that in the erected container the flange portions 26, 26<SP>1</SP> abut the flange portion 20. At least one of the score lines 11, 14, 16, 18, 11<SP>1</SP>, 14<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP>, 18<SP>1</SP> may be only intermittently scored between the flange-defining score lines and the container base 2.
