1326572 Pressure-sensitive recording sheet FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 21 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969 49993/70] Heading D2B A pressure-sensitive recording sheet comprises a paper support having coated on one face thereof a layer comprising an electronaccepting absorbent clay, a latex binder, and a material yielding a polymeric anionic component when dissolved in water, said component being selected from acidic polymers and their alkali metal salts, gum arabic, pectin, pictinic acid, starch sulphate and starch phosphate, and the sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid esters of hydroxyethyl cellulose. Specified alkali metal salts of acidic polymers include sodium polyacrylate, sodium alginate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium carboxyethyl cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl ether of hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium salt of a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, sodium polyglutamate, sodium polyasparaginate, sodium polymethacrylate, sodium salt of a butadiene - methacrylic acid copolymer, sodium salt of an ethylene-maleic anhydride copolymer, sodium carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt of a methyl vinyl ethermaleic anhydride copolymer, sodium carboxymethyl ether-mallic anhydride copolymer, and potassium polyvinylbenzene sulphonate. A layer of microcapsules containing a colour former may be applied to the layer above, or to the other face of the paper support. A metal oxide and/or a metal salt may be incorporated in the clay-containing layer.
