Abstract

1336504 Pivotable extruder head SAINTGOBAIN 14 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 1910/71 Heading B5A A multi-head extruder for use with a number of mould cavities comprises a number of extrusion head bodies each pivotable about an axis coincident with the longitudinal centre line of the feed passage to each head so as to adjust the distance between the die centres of the heads to correspond with the centres of the mould cavities. As shown in Fig. 1, the extrusion heads 1 each carry a die 2 for extrusion of tubing 3. Heads 1 are mounted on press body 6 via an intermediate member (7, Fig. 2, not shown) which is rotatable in a collar (8) rigidly fixed to body 6. Heads 1 are pivotable about axes 0 between positions 0 1 and 0 2 by adjustment of screws 9, 10 which engage a member 12 rigidly fixed to press body 6. [GB1336504A]
