Abstract

1342068 Squeeze mop PRESTIGE GROUP Ltd 2 Nov 1971 [18 Nov 1970] 54840/70 Heading A4F A squeeze mop comprises two squeeze members 1, 2 each joined to an interconnecting member 3 by a folding web 4, a sponge 5 common to the two squeeze members, and operating means for moving the squeeze members from the inclined mopping position, Figs. 1 and 3, to the squeeze position, Fig. 2. Each squeeze member is connected by a universal joint 13 to a link 11 pivoted at 12 to a bifurcated handle support 10. An operating rod 14 is pivoted at one end to the interconnecting member 3 and at the other end to an operating lever 17. In the mopping position, rod 14 is locked in position by a clip 18a to lock the sponge 5 in the inclined position shown. On rotating lever 17, the sponge first assumes a position at right angles to the handle, and then the squeeze members rotate about the webs 4 to the squeeze position. The squeeze members 1, 2 and the interconnecting member 3 may be formed integrally from plastics material. [GB1342068A]
