Abstract
1374751 Testing enzymes BAYER AG 23 Dec 1971 [28 Dec 1970 24 Sept 1971] 59939/71 Heading G1B [ Also in Divisions A5 and C3] The following methods of testing enzyme potency are disclosed. Amylase and saccharase are incubated in starch and sucrose solutions, respectively, and the reaction mixture is treated with dinitrosalicylic acid and the colour produced evaluated. Maltase is incubated with p-nitrophenyl -.alpha.-D-glucopyranoside in solution and the amount of p-nitrophenolute in the reaction mixture is determined photometrically. The tests are used to ascertain the inhibiting effect of the micro-biologically produced, glycosidehydrolase inhibitors described and claimed. (From GB1374751 A) [FR2120073A1]
