Abstract
1387826 Moulding keyways in concrete SPIROLL CORP Ltd 21 July 1972 [2 July 1971] 31221/71 Heading B5A Keyways 48 (Fig. 1) are formed in a concrete slab by a device 17 including an endless belt 33 (Fig. 4, plan view). bearing projections 39, 40<SP>1</SP> that engage the concrete through an aperture in a side wall 18. Concrete is extruded from a hopper 13 (Fig. 1) into a moulding area defined by a packing chamber 14, the moulding device 10 moving on wheels 12 along rails 11 by power or extrusion forces. Apertures 100 are formed, and the concrete compressed, by augers 38 (Fig. 4), and keyway 52 (Fig. 1) is formed conventionally. The packing chamber 14 includes two apertured side walls 18 (Fig. 4) each supporting an endless belt 33 adjustable in tension by screw controlled roller-supporting forks 26. The longitudinal and vertical axes of the belt 33 are screw-adjustable with respect to the longitudinal axis 37 of the auger 38 (see Fig. 6, not reproduced). The belt is driven by extrusion forces, or by an hydraulic motor and slip clutch. The belt projections 39, 40<SP>1</SP> take a variety of shapes (see Figs. 8-11, not reproduced). In use, the elongate ceiling or floor slabs are connected by grout 54 (Fig. 3), the keyways 52, 48 preventing relative shearing. U.S. Specification 3,284,867 is referred to.
