1420924 Damp proofing treatment PROTIM & GALLOWEY LTD 24 Nov 1972 [30 Nov 1971] 55607/71 Heading D1P A brick, concrete or stone wall of a building is damp proofed by introducing into it an aqueous gelling mixture of an alkali metal silicate and a hydrolysable ester to form therein a water-resistant silicate gel barrier. Preferably the hydrolysable ester is formed from a C 1 to C 4 carboxylic acid and an alcohol, a glycol or glycerol. An emulsifier may also be employed if the ester is not readily water-miscible and the solution may also include a siliconate. [GB1420924A]
