1407485 Treating water FISCHER HOLDINGS Ltd 5 Dec 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 55981/72 Heading C1C [Also in Division C5] An oil-absorbent material for cleaning polluted water comprises peat fibres or fines prepared as follows: peat having a water content of 75 wt. per cent or less is separated into fines having a maximum length selected from the range 0À5 to 5 mm., preferably 1 mm., and fibres having a length greater than this maximum length, and drying the fibres and fines separately from each other until they both have a water content of less than 10 wt. per cent.
