Abstract
1409861 Method of erecting a building ETAB FRESA 23 Jan 1973 [1 Feb 1972 11 Feb 1972] 3395/73 Heading E1S A building including superimposed prefabricated room units is erected by first constructing an upwardly extending main support, providing a platform 9 supported at the top of the main support, which may be e.g. a wall 4 of a service and access core, mounting a hoisting device 10 on the platform, and providing auxiliary suports 6, 7 extending from the ground to the platform, whereafter prefabricated room units 1 are successively hoisted by the hoisting device; to desired final positions where they are supported by support members 23, 24 on the auxiliary supports, which latter serve also as guide means for the room units during hoisting. The auxiliary supports may comprise rows of spaced posts 6, 7 interconnected by braces 8, or a row of spaced walls extending transveresly of the wall 4, the spacing between adjacent pairs of posts or adjacent walls being equal to the width of the room units, and the supports being connected to the wall 4 by vertically spaced landings 25. Units may be supported by securing crossbeams 23, 24 to the supports 6, 7 underneath them after hoisting. The hoisting device 10 may be a winch movably mounted on rails extending along the platform 9, for moving the winch from one space between posts or walls to the next, and cables 15, 16 from the winch drum 13 pass through holes in the winch carriage and in the platform, and are fastened at their lower ends to the room unit to be hoisted.
