1383619 1-Azetindinyl-3-phenyl-2-imidazolidinones GRUPPO LEPETIT SpA 13 June 1973 [26 July 1972] 28197/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds I and their acid addition salts in which R, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl and X is one or more substituents selected from halogen, C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy or trifluoromethyl are prepared by reacting (1) a compound II or its acetate derivative (prepared by acylation of alkanol), with phosgene and potassium hydroxide and substitition of the hydroxy group by halogen using a thionyl halide.
