Abstract
1447558 Propanolamines CIBA-GEIGY AG 12 Dec 1973 [22 Dec 1972 24 Oct 1973] 57583/73 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1 sugar residue, optionally substituted; R 2 = isopropyl, tert.-butyl, α-methylphenethyl or l-methyl-3-phenylpropyl, the aralkyl groups being optionally ar-substituted) and their salts are prepared by standard methods, e.g. by reacting the corresponding oxirane with R 2 NH 2 , optionally followed by salt formation. The starting materials are prepared by reacting the parent phenol with epichlorohydrin. The above compounds are positive isotropic agents, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical or veterinary preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
