Abstract

1283603 Panel BRODERICK STRUCTURES Ltd 24 March 1970 [20 March 1969] 14712/69 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] A wall or roof structure comprises jointed panels composed of chipboard 2 with a sheet 3 of aluminium, copper or lead bonded to one face and at least two opposite edges 4 by means of a sprayed coating of neoprene adhesive the sheet being then pressed by rollers to effect the bond. The metal sheet is bent out from at least one of the edges 4 to form a flange 5 in the plane of the panels and the joint formed between adjoining panels by overlapping adjacent flanges with a layer of mastic 7 between them and then fixing a resilient aluminium channel strip 8 to clamp the flanges 5 together between the strip and a wood framing member 6 by means of a wood screw 9 passing through aligned oversized holes in the channel 8 and flanges 5. The outer surface of the metal sheet may be coated with plastics and aluminium foil bonded to the backface of the chipboard. [GB1283603A]
