1454603 Electrolysis electrodes C CONRADTY 9 May 1974 [10 May 1973] 20521/74 Heading C7B A Ti anode having an active coating and useful in amalgram cells has a height of active coating, measured upwardly from the lower surface, from 5-20 mm and is such that the.actual surface area (i.e. overall active coated area) up to heights of 5, 7À5, 10 and 15 mm exceeds the projected area (i.e. anode width x breadth overall) at least 2À5, 3À33, 4 and 7À5 fold, and at least half the actual surface area is arranged perpendicular to the anode base surface. Conventional structures are described, having multiple spaced Ti strips supported by horizontal spanning members and being actively coated.
