Abstract
1453997 Polyester filaments BAYER AG 3 May 1974 [3 May 1973] 19468/74 Heading B5B A mixture of 99 to 50% by wt. of polyethylene terephthalate and 1-50% by wt. of polycyclohexane-1,4-dimethanol terephthalate or of a polyester of cyclohexane dimethanol and terephthalic/isophthalic acid (molar ratio 99 : 1 to 1 : 99) is spun and the spun product is stretched in a ratio of 1 : 3 0 to 1 : 4 5. The polyester has an intrinsic viscosity of 0 60 to 0 73. The filaments are spun at 305 C. at 1000 m./min. and stretched from a spinning spool over a heated roller (90 C.) and a heated block (160 C.) the filaments being drawn off at 800 m./min.
