Abstract

1472486 Anti-scour devices for offshore structures TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 11 April 1975 [3 May 1974] 14905/75 Heading E1H To prevent scour about the base 11 of a gravity type offshore structure (shown in plan in Figure 2) flexible anti-scour mats 22, 23 are disposed about the lower periphery of the base 11 and each mat comprises a plurality of concrete pads interconnected by cables or chain links. The inner ends 24 of the mats are fastened to an anchor beam connected to the base 11 and the outer ends are connected to lines 39 which when the structure is being positioned initially hold the mats in a furled or retracted position and subsequently are used to spread the mats out over the sea bed adjacent the base. The mats extend about the entire periphery or only a part of the base. The base 11 includes storage tanks. [GB1472486A]
