Abstract

1519444 Washing machines VICKERS Ltd 4 Aug 1975 [20 Aug 1974] 36630/74 Heading B8T A washing machine for bottles &c., comprises an endless conveyer 1 trained around guide wheels 2, 3, 4 and 5 to move around a closed path 6. A plurality of bottle carriers 7 preferably in groups are arranged on the conveyer 1 and are preferably in the form of open-ended tapered pockets or of the drop-through type. Water jet washing stations are provided at 12, 13, 14 and 15 and a soaking trough 16, provides with hot detergent, is positioned after the water jet 12. A feeding station 8 is located alongside the path 6 and comprises an endless conveyer 9 trained over wheels 10 and 11 which feeds bottles to a part of the path G where the conveyer 1 is moving either vertically or in a plane at an angle of less than 20 degrees to the vertical. A discharge station 17 is treated alongside the path G and in the same horizontal plane as and adjacent the feeding station 8. A single operator is thus able to supervise both feeding and discharging operations. [GB1519444A]
