Abstract

1527113 Insulators D S M PHILLIPS 26 Aug 1975 [28 Aug 1974] 35200/75 Heading H2C An electric fence insulator comprises (i) a wire 6 receiving channel, (ii) means for engaging a support member which member may be a nail or staple for fixing to a fence post, said means comprising either a hole 5 or grooves (Figs. 5-9, not shown) and (iii) a flange at each wire emerging end of the insulator, said flange having an end face which tapers to a portion with a small radius of curvature so that, in use, water running on to the flange drips off without approaching the support member. The insulator may be split to allow the wire to be placed in said channel (Fig. 2, not shown) or may be in two portions hinged together, the channel lying in adjacent faces of the portions and the portions being held together, in use, by the support member.
