Abstract

1474484 Mixing apparatus RANKS HOVIS MCDOUGALL Ltd 16 Jan 1976 [20 Jan 1975] 2477/75 Heading B1C [Also in Division B8] A helical conveyor for use in the treatment of seeds comprises a central shaft 10 having a plurality of similar flights fixed thereto, the leading edge 12 of any one flight (except at the end of the conveyor) being disposed axially forwardly of the trailing edge 13 of the next but one forward flight 15. As shown the leading edge 12 is coaxial with the trailing edge 13 of the next forward flight 14 and lies between the next forward flight 14 and the next but two forward flight 15. Apparatus, Fig. 1 (not shown), for coating seeds with liquid and/or powder comprises an inlet (6) for the seeds including liquid nozzles (7) and a further inlet (81) for powder. The seeds are conveyed by a conveyor as above and pass out through an outlet 9, being coated during their passage through the apparatus. [GB1474484A]
