Abstract

A profile element, in particular for use on roofing surfaces, has two vertical side walls (1, 2) and two horizontal side walls (3, 4), all of which together form a channel. The profile element further has, at one side, strip-shaped coupling elements (5, 6) of L-shaped cross-section and, at the opposite side, has strip-shaped coupling elements (7, 8) of U-shaped cross-section. If two profile elements are fitted together, in each case an L-shaped coupling element (5, 6) is inserted in a U-shaped coupling element (7, 8). A band-shaped locking element (9) is fitted in the resulting channel to provide mutual connection of the profile elements. The profile has an intermediate wall (11) located between the horizontal side walls (3, 4) and, as a result, good heat insulation is achieved. In its longitudinal direction, the locking element has a thickened portion (10) which runs in the form of a web and is respectively aligned with an intermediate wall (11) of each profile element. <IMAGE> [GB1511189A]
