Abstract

Moulding compsns. comprise 30-70 vol. % frittable solid particles and 70-30 vol. % of a novel binder system which is combustible and comprise 10-90 pts. wt. resin and 90-10 pts. wt.plasticiser. The resin is block copolymer of formula AB-(AB)nA, where n is o or a positive number, A is a linear or branched polymer which is amorphous or crystalline at 20-25 degrees C and has a softening pt.of 80-250 degrees C; B is a polymer different from A and is an elastomer in a temp. range between 15 degrees C below the softening pt. of A and 100 degrees C above the softening pt. of A.The plasticiser is (a) an oil >=75 wt % of which has a b.pt.287.8-558.8 degrees C, viscosity (at .9 degrees C) of 30-200 Universal Saybolt secs. and an aniline pt. 76.7-123.9 degrees C and/or (b) a wax of m.pt. 54.4-76.7 degrees C and >=75 wt. % of which has a b.pt.315.6-482.2 degrees C.Used for prodn. of dimensionallystable articles by first forming a rough moulding which is then finished by burning off the binder [FR2337751A1]
