Abstract

1523848 Charging gas containers BK-GAS BV 2 May 1977 [4 May 1976] 18288/77 Heading F4P A buffer tank 2 to prevent overcharging of a liquefied fuel gas tank 1 is located in the upper part of tank 1, communicating with the interior of the tank 1 via a restricted orifice 13, and with the exterior of the tank 1 via a pipe 17 of relatively large bore normally closed by a screw plug 18. The pipe 17 provides access to the buffer tank 2 for quick filling with e.g. water for pressure testing. The orifice 13 together with a further orifice in the upper part of the tank 2 substantially restricts the flow of liquefied gas into the tank 2 during filling of tank 1, through pipe 11.
