Abstract

A T pipe piece of fibre-reinforced plastic is produced by winding glass strands around a mandrel with a multiplicity of winding patterns which together cover the T pipe piece. A band with a warp of synthetic fibres and a fill of glass rovings is used when winding around the T pipe piece. Such glass fibres for reinforcement are oriented in the T piece in order to resist biaxial stresses. A bulge is provided on each side of the T pipe piece in the wall triangle region in order to resist biaxial stresses without giving rise to difficulties during winding of the T pipe piece.
