Abstract

1. A bathtub insert for handicapped persons, comprising a bottom element (10), a lift plate (18), a guide frame (12, 14) arranged therebetween and consisting of at least two scissor-like rocking lever pairs, a lifting device (60, 62; 70) consisting of at least one pressure chamber surrounded by a flexible non-strechable material and the volume of which being variable, and a hand-operated valve (42) for controlling the lifting device (60, 62; 70), characterized in that the pressure chamber is formed within a portion of a fire-hose (60, 62; 70) closed at the ends thereof, the fire-hose in the down position of the lift plate (18) being folded in a zigzag-shape and in the elevated position of the lift plate (18) is in a stable extended position.
