Abstract

A prefabricated flue unit (1,30,40,60,70) comprises an outer box-shaped housing (2) having a through hole defining a flue, a liner (3) for the flue and an insulating infill material (4) interposed between the liner (3) and housing (2). The housing (2) is of a fibre reinforced cementitious material and the liner (3) is of a fire and acid resistant material. The unit is formed with an interlocking means which in one case forms part of the housing (2) and comprises a male spigot (14) including a tapered step portion (8) for interengaging in a complementary female socket (15).
