Abstract

1. Sand collector for the recovery of sand suspended in water, having a trough (1), which is provided with an entry (4) for the water/sand mixture and a water outlet (8) and into which at least one drivable bucket wheel (2) dips, wo which the sand settling on the floor (5) of the trough (1) may be conducted by means of at least one drivable worm (3) arranged coaxially to the bucket wheel (2), characterized in that each bucket wheel (2) is drivable independently of the respective associated worm or worms (3) and that at least one of the two drive speeds is variable.
