Abstract

A support system for mattresses or cushions used in body support appliances comprises spaced air springs 12 provided with a series of longitudinally spaced pockets 17 having open mouths accommodating the ends of transversely extending slats 11. At least one stabiliser (55, Fig. 14) may be used to maintain the air springs correctly spaced. Alternative air springs and methods of making the air springs are disclosed. <IMAGE> [GB2132886A]
