Abstract

A centrifuge rotor with a central hub (12) is characterized zrby a flexible carrier (38) formed from a plurality of fibers arranged in a predetermined textile structure. The carrier has a socket (48) formed at the radially outer end thereof by the interconnection of the fibers. The socket may receive a vessel (50) therein. A restoring cap assembly responds to centrifugal force to displace from its initial to final positions. As it returns, the cap acts against the flexible carrier (38) to assist the same to the first position. [EP0186863A2]
