Abstract

A concealable mounting system comprising: first and second cooperating plates slidably engageable in a common plane; wherein the first plate is fixable to the rear of an item to be surface-mounted, and the second plate is fixable to a surface on which the item is to be mounted; and wherein in use, with the first plate fixed to the rear of the item and the item being supported in position to be mounted, the second plate is slidable relative to the first plate between: a concealed position wherein a portion of the second plate extends beyond an edge of the item to permit attachment of the second plate to the surface, and wherein the second plate is returnable to the concealed position following attachment of the second plate to the surface. <Figure 5>
