Abstract
A floating shed that provides cover for any size of boat. It has a curved cladded roof (1). It also consists of a decked walkway both sides(2), and along the front(6) if the shed is required for two smaller boats. The frame is made up from 50mm box iron(4,5) which is then connected to four or more aeroboard filled pvc floats (3). A pivoting 40mm tube at the entrance provides a way of locking the boat safely in the shed (9).

Description
The purpose of this new invention is to protect your boat in the water when not in use. This comprises of a floating shed built to suit the size of any particular boat with decking along each side to allow work to be carried out on the boat while inside the shed whatever the weather, A boat is protected from uv rays,which causes discolouring,and rain which causes dampness and rot.
Claims (19)
1. This new invention is a steel manufactured shed that floats on water and can be moored at any private or public jetty.
2. The floating boat shed unit consists of decking on each side which provides a walk way so a person can manoeuvre around the boat while in the shed. It is a box iron frame with a curved cladded roof.
3. The boat shed unit is then placed on four or more floats depending on the size of the boat and the customers requirements.
4. The main frame is manufactured from 50x50x3mm box section of iron with two runners on the bottom on either side with box iron supports welded between each runner at every 1500mm.
5. The roof supports are welded up-right from these runners, each at a distance of 1500mm up to the required height of the shed.
6. Two runners are then welded on top of the up-right roof supports to ensure further support to the frame and to allow the cladding to be fixed to the main frame.
7. The frame is then attached to the floats using two 50x6mm galvanised flat steel per float. These are bolted to the frame using 60x12mm bolt and lock nuts.
8. The floats are made up of moulded plastic comprised with aero-board. On top of each float there is a groove on either side to allow the box iron to sit flush with the top of the float, therefore giving extra stability.
9. The float dimensions are 950mm x 750mm x 750mm with a curved bottom. There are also two grooves around each float to allow the frame to be safely secured to the floats.
10. The walkways on both side are decked using 150mm x 30mm decking board. The decking is secured to the box section using 60mm self tapping screws and all timber is tanalised.
11. Timber is fixed to the side of the walkway on the inside of the shed to prevent damage to the boat when entering the shed. This is a 150 x 30mm tanalised board fixed with 60mm self tapping screws.
12. In the case of a speedboat the walkways also extends 300mm on both sides outside of the shed, to allow safe and easy access to the shed. I f the customer requires the shed for two smaller fishing boats a walkway is added across the front of the shed to allow safe access to either boats. These walkways are also decked using 150 x 30mm tanalised decking boards.
13. There are four tie-ing points on the walkways. This allows the boat to be safely moored ’without having contact with the shed as there is constant movement between the shed and the boat. 2. ffi<>S06j 2
14. The roof consists of 0.55mm corrugated cladding. This can vary in length and colour upon customer specifications. The sheeting is then curved to suit the shed which reduced drips and gives great self support to the unit.
15. Each side is manufactured separately to allow transport. Both sides are then bolted together on site using 50mm box iron. There are two supports at the front and one at the entrance to the shed, the two supports at the front are bolted on the top and the bottom of t the shed.
16. One support at the entrance is curved to the roofs specification and bolted just under the cladding therefore giving maximum height on entering the shed.
17. A number of extras may be added to the shed on customer requirements: • Locking devise - This enables the boat to be locked safely in the shed. It consists of a curved tube that is on a pivot at the entrance. When it is open it is in line with the roof cladding. It can then be folded down and locked in position blocking the exit, • Side latting - The shed maybe latted on each side with an 80 x 20mm board. This is fixed with 50mm self tapping screws with a 20mm space between each board, p reventing wind damage.
18. The shed frame is primed with two coats of rust proof primer and topped off with a weather poof steel top coat. The frame may also be sent for galvanising if required by the customer.
19. The accompanying drawings indicate clearly where each components are and gives a clear picture how this product works. Each part is numbered and named on the accompanying pages.
