Abstract

Packaging 10 for food preservation and handling includes and inner sealable package 20 into which a food product 30 is located. The inner package 20 is adapted to be filled with a food preserving gas and sealed. An outer container 15 of a semi-rigid material contains ther inner package 20 with the food product 30 therein. The semi-rigid material which may be cellulosic paper cardboard or any other suitable material is also capable of allowing the food product, without the inner package 20, to be heated within the container in a microwave over and to contain the subsequently heated food product 30.
