Abstract

Apparatus 1 for blow moulding comprises a plurality of individual blow moulding units 2 transversely arranged and spaced-apart in a single row. the apparatus 1 includes a common mould and colorant storage area 3, a common mould transfer area 4, a common mould services area 8, a finished product staging area 5 and a product shipping area 10 having a number of separate shipping outlets 11 each of which is associated with a particular single blow moulding unit 3. There is minimum handling of raw materials and finished blow moulded articles with high manufacturing efficiency and flexibility. The apparatus may also include a final trimming apparatus 49 for trimming blow moulded articles such as cases to smooth any rough edges.
