Abstract
1432453 Touch switches MAGIC DOT Inc 13 Aug 1973 [28 Aug 1972] 38226/73 Heading G1N The touch plate is connected to the input 52 of an A.C. energized amplifier 12 and normally floats at about ten volts (and power frequency) above earth ground. When touched the body capacity charging currents cause an output signal which is rectified at 45 to charge a storage (smoothing) capacitor at the input of a switching amplifier 30. A transistor amplifier and switching circuit is illustrated in Fig. 4 (not shown). In the first stage amplifier 12 the emitter is connected by a resistor to the base input circuit to provide the floating voltage. The amplifier 30 may include an F.E.T. input (not shown). The power supply transformer may be replaced by a potential divider Fig. 3 (not shown).

Claims (20)
1. Switching circuitry actuated by a human, comprising in combinations a surface isolated from earth ground and accessible to an operator in a manner to allow electronic sign oupling between the surface and the operator; means' for providing an oscillation, including a first output for providing a reference coupled to earth ground and including a second outpu Vt for providing a source of oscillation; amplifier means'"including power^ input means, signal input means, and signal output means; disintegrating means having a first terminal coupled to a earth ground and a second terminal? means for providing an electrical connection between the surface and the amplifier signal input means; means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the amplifier signal output means; means for providing an electrical connection between the second output of the oscillation means and the amplifier means.
2. Switching circuitry of Claim 1, wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the amplifier signal output means comprises unidirectional means.
3. The switching circuitry of claim 2, wherein the unidirectional means comprises a diode.
4. The switching circuitry of Claim 3, wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second output of the oscillation means and the amplifier means comprises an electrical connection to the power input means of the amplifier means. 42906/2

The switching circuitry of Claim 4, wherein the means for providing the oscillation comprises power supply means for accepting an alternating frequency power input and for providing a direct current power output and wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second output of the oscillation means and the amplifier means comprises an interconnection between an oscillatory portion of the power supply and tha power input means of the amplifier means.
6. The switching circuitry of Claim 5, wherein the integrating means comprises a capacitor.
7. The switching circuitry of Claim G, further including a second amplifier means including signal input means and signal output means and means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the signal input means of the second amplifier means.
8. The switching circuitry of Claim 1, wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second output of the oscillation means and the amplifier means comprises an electrical connection to the power input means of the amplifier means.

The switching circuitry of Claim 8 wherein the means for providing the oscillation comprises power supply means for accepting an alternating frequency power input and for providing a direct current power output and wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second output of the oscillation means and the amplifier means comprises an interconnection between an oscillatory portion of the power supply and the power input means of the amplifier means.
10. Switching circuitry of Claim 8, wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the amplifier signal output means comprises unidirectional means.
11. The switching circuitry of Claim 10, wherein the unidirectional means comprises a diode.
12. The switching circuitry of Claim 10, wherein the integrating means comprises a capacitor.
13. The switching circuitry of Claim 10, further including second amplifier means including signal input means and signal output means and means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the signal input means of the second amplifier means.
14. The switching circuitry of Claim 1, wherein the integrating means comprises a capacitor.
15. The switching circuitry of Claim 1, further including second amplifier means Including signal Input means and signal output means and means for providing an electrical connection between the second terminal of the integrating means and the signal input means of the second amplifier means.
16. Switching circuitry of any of Claims 1-15 and also comprisings second amplifier means having input means for receiving a signal to be amplified and having output means for providing a switched output, with the switched output having a first state for approximating an electrical short circuit and a second state for approximating an electrical open circuit ; and means for providing an electrical connection between said integrating means and the input to said second amplification means whereby the capacitance of the human provides an earth reference to said first amplifier means and causes the output of the second amplifier means to change between said first and second state .
17. The switching circuitry of Claim 16, wherein the integrating means comprises a capacitor.
18. The switching circuitry of Claim 17, wherein the integrating means urther includes a resistor of high value in parallel with the capacitor.
19. The switching circuitry of any of Claims 1-16, wherein the means for providing an electrical connection between the amplifier signal output means and the integrating means comprises unidirectional means.
20. The switching circuitry of Claim 19, wherein the unidirectional means comprises a diode. SC:CB
