Abstract

Provided are a preferred thick, high-strength, sour-resistant line pipe having a pipe thickness of 20 mm or higher and a tensile strength of 560 MPa or higher, and a method for producing same. In this line pipe, a base material part contains specified quantities of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Al, Nb, Ca, N and O and one or more of Cu, Ni, Cr, Mo, V and Ti as optional components, with the remainder comprising Fe and unavoidable impurities. The microstructure in the pipe thickness direction contains 90% or more of bainite and 1% or less of MA in a region between the inner surface + 2mm and the outer surface + 2 mm. The hardness in regions other than a center segregation part is 220 Hv10 or lower and the hardness of the center segregation part is 250 Hv10 or lower in the hardness distribution in the pipe thickness direction. The major axis of bubbles, inclusions and inclusion clusters present at positions between the inner surface + 1 mm and 3/16ths of the pipe thickness and positions between the outer surface + 1 mm and 13/16ths of the pipe thickness in the pipe thickness direction is 1.5 mm or lower. A CC slab having this composition is hot rolled under specified conditions, subjected to accelerated cooling, and then heated again.
