Abstract

A centrifuge includes a shaft supporting a rotor with bottom holes for centrifugate discharge a shell with holes for sludge discharge, and arc-shaped vanes arranged between the bottom and the rotor cover, the inlet end of each vane being curved into an eye fitting over a pin secured to the rotor bottom and the cover, the outlet of each vane resting on the rotor shell near the sludge unloading holes, each vane having a fluted body, a sieve provided with flat projections arranged serially in the direction of fluid flow from an extending form one side of the sieve to the other, and strips arranged longitudinally to the sieve and pressing it against the vane body. The flat projections vary in height from 5-10 mm.
