Abstract

A front pressurised idling roller for the elastic belt is carried by a pair of end blocks slidable horizontally by a screw, the belt running over a rear idling roller in fixed end blocks and the belt being driven by a top roller in end blocks on a vertically adjustable slide movable by a hydraulic ram over distances governed by micrometer stops. The rollers are suitably in an open-sided frame for easy belt exchange, the nip pressure between the top roller and the front idling roller being variable, as also is the contact arc between the belt and the top roller by adjusting the latter horizontally. Widely different finishes are obtainable, esp. in fabrics due to range of roller adjustments.
