Abstract

The hydraulic percussive mechanism transforms the energy of circulation from a fluid motor into an impulse of mechanical shock, which acts upon a rock-drilling tool. The tool has a body with adaptors which connect it to the drillstring, and also the rock bit. Inside the body are: (i) an anvil, (ii) a percussion piston, connected by a spring to the anvil, (iii) a first valve, connected to the body by a spring, and periodically coming into contact with the percussion piston to create the mechanical shock impulses, (iv) a second valve, which restricts the output of the fluid motor acting on the closing element of the first valve, and itself having a closing element which shows one face of the tip of the piece of work, and one face to a bit of the circumference, and having a constricting channel which communicates with an overflow chamber located after the peripheral bit.
