Per la saldatura elettrica a resistenza di un tubo metallico (9) su una parete di lamiera metallica (2), il tubo (9) viene predisposto con una serie di alette (11) sporgenti radialmente dalla sua superficie esterna che sono ottenute per deformazione plastica della parete del tubo mediante due punzoni che si muovono l'uno verso l'altro lungo una direzione tangenziale rispetto all'asse del tubo (9).(Figura 4).
