Viene previsto un procedimento di raffinazione del riso semigreggio comprendente una prima fase A in cui vengono realizzate sui chicchi del riso incisioni superficiali mediante sfregamento dei chicchi stessi contro una superficie abrasiva, una seconda fase B nella quale i chicchi incisi superficialmente sono sottoposti ad uno sfregamento reciproco per asportarne gli strati corticali, ed una terza fase C nella quale vengono separati mediante passaggio al setaccio tali strati corticali dal riso.
