Abstract
UN DISPOSITIVO LASER, MODULATO DIRETTAMENTE IN AMPIEZZA, PRESENTA UNA INDESIDERATA MODULAZIONE DI FREQUENZA CHE NE ALLARGA LO SPETTRO DI EMISSIONE. IL METODO ELIMINA LA MODULAZIONE DI FREQUENZA INDESIDERATA EFFETTUANDO UNA CONVERSIONE DELLA LUNGHEZZA D'ONDA OTTICA DEL SEGNALE MODULATO, UTILIZZANDO UN AMPLIFICATORE OTTICO A SEMICONDUTTORE COME CONVERTITORE E UN ALTRO LASER NON MODULATO COME GENERATORE DEL SEGNALE DI CONVERSIONE. LA CONVERSIONE DI LUNGHEZZA D'ONDA HA LUOGO NELL'AMPLIFICATORE PER EFFETTO DELLA MODULAZIONE DEL SUO GUADAGNO INDOTTA DA SATURAZIONE. IL SEGNALE ALLA FREQUENZA DEL SEGNALE DI CONVERSIONE, PRELEVATO DA UN FILTRO IN USCITA DAL CONVERTITORE, PRESENTA UNA MODULAZIONE DI AMPIEZZA UGUALE ED OPPOSTA RISPETTO A QUELLA DEL SEGNALE MODULATO IN INGRESSO, MA NON PRESENTA MODULAZIONE DI FREQUENZA.
