Abstract

Una composizione idrogeno-assorbente per cavi a fibre ottiche comprende un catalizzatore scelto nel gruppo comprendente i metalli di transizione, i loro sali e complessi inorganici ed organici, nonché un composto idrocarburico includente almeno il 90% di un idrocarburo sostanzialmente omogeneo, privo di silicio e non ottenuto per polimerizzazione di monomeri comprendenti dieni coniugati, dotato di doppi legami reattivi con l'idrogeno a temperatura ambiente in quantità corrispondente ad un numero di iodio compreso tra 70 e 1.100 mg/g ed avente, tal quale:- una viscosità a temperatura ambiente compresa tra 500 e 70.000 cSt, e - una viscosità a temperatura ambiente inferiore a 70.000 cSt dopo invecchiamento per esposizione in aria, in spessore sottile, per almeno 7 giorni a 100°C.Cavi a fibre ottiche secondo l'invenzione comprendono almeno una fibra ottica (3) accolta in un rispettivo alloggiamento (2) e - in almeno una porzione di volume interno - una quantità efficace di tale composizione idrogeno-assorbente.
