Il trovato si inserisce nel campo dei dispositivi di trasporto e di accumulo di contenitori. Più precisamente si riferisce ad un trasportatore-accumulatore comprendente un trasportatore (8) a catena (4) atto a trasportare i contenitori (6) sospesi per il collare (7), movimentato in modo sincrono alla macchina a monte e a valle del trasportatore stesso; un accumulatore (9) a catena (4). del tutto simile al trasportatore (8) e sincrono con esso ed il cui percorso di accumulo comprende almeno una zona (10) di interferenza con il trasportatore (8) in cui mezzi deviatori possono provvedere alla deviazione dei contenitori (6) dal trasportatore all'accumulatore o viceversa dall'accumulatore al trasportatore, o possono lasciare scorrere i contenitori lungo il trasportatore verso la macchina a valle.
