Abstract

Si descrivono metodo e dispositivo per salvare immagine di sistema che sono indipendenti dal sistema operativo. Metodo e dispositivo hanno particolari applicazioni a sistemi informatici, in particolare sistemi informatici alimentati a batteria e/o basati su microprocessore. Nella forma di realizzazione attualmente preferita della presente invenzione, si fornisce una tabella dei parametri BIOS ed un'interruzione di tabella dei parametri BIOS ad un sistema informatico comprendente un'unità centrale di elaborazione (CPU). Un'area di misura adeguata sul dispositivo di memoria di massa è riservata per immagazzinare un'immagine del sistema informatico. La tabella dei parametri BIOS è inizializzata per descrivere la capacità netta di memoria e l'area riservata. L'interruzione di tabella dei parametri BIOS indica la posizione di partenza della tabella dei parametri BIOS.
