Viene descritto un filo metallico per realizzare, previa successiva cordatura, strutture di rinforzo da impiegarsi in pneumatici o altri manufatti in materiale elastomerico, detto filo metallico presentando un'anima in acciaio dotata di uno strato di rivestimento in lega zinco/manganese, con tenore di manganese compreso fra 5% e 80%.Viene anche descritto, in diverse forme realizzative, un procedimento per la realizzazione del rivestimento tramite elettrodeposizione della lega zinco/manganese sull'anima in acciaio.
