Abstract

The radio signalling device comprises: a first unit provided with a radio transmitter, being self-energised, arranged to emit a radio frequency signal with a predetermined power and modulated by a predetermined code that can be selected from among a plurality of codes; a second radio receiving unit operating at the same frequency as the first unit, provided with a demodulator of predetermined code, corresponding to that of the first unit, and arranged so that it can sense a radio frequency field having a predetermined strength, and means arranged to produce an alarm signal when the strength of the received signal falls below a predetermined level; the arrangement being such that the alarm signal is activated whenever the transmitting unit is removed beyond a predetermined radius of action. A variant is described which makes it possible to ascertain the distance between the radio transmitter and the radio receiver unit. <IMAGE>
